Israel is not all about tanning on the beach, touring holy sites or walking through archaeological digs.

There is so much more happing around the country. For those visiting Israel during the summer months, there are plenty of summer eventsfestivalsmarkets and happenings across the country. From water fun to tunnel tours, hiking in streams to rafting down rivers, enjoying a concert to relaxing on the beach, there really is something for everyone.

Let us start by giving you few tips how to survive the Israeli summer:

  • Carry a bottle of water with you all day long. Drink at least 2 liter per day. You may use mineral water but tap water in Israel is safe to drink.

  • When exposed to sun, wear a wide-rim hat that will provide a sun protection to your nape and forehead.

  • The UV is extremely high therefore using a high UV sunscreen is essential.

  • Wear sunglasses at all daytime.

  • Wear light clothing & don’t forget to bring your swimming suit.

Here are some cool ways to enjoy the Israeli summer:

Beaches in Israel  The sandy beachesalong the Mediterranean coastal plain are amazing and beautiful. Once you go down south, you will enjoy the unique beaches of Eilat. Israel’s gorgeous coastline has great sand-sea-and-sun options.

Spend time in nature: Israel has many national parks and beautiful outdoor spaces which are ideal to enjoy during the summer months. One of the best things to do in Israel in the summer is making the most out of the natural beauty and unique landscapes across the country isby taking a hike early morning.

Stay cool indoors: There are many air-conditioned indoor options. Israel has over 200 museums ranging from modern art to history, religion, science, and philosophy. Shopping is another great way to keep yourself cool by spending time at the malls.

Enjoy the summer nights: There are always events happening during the summer. There are so many night festivalsgoing on – all you need to do is just pick one of them. For example : Take part of the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat, the Wine Festival in Jerusalem or the Klezmer Festival in Tsfat and much more.

Try some water activity: Swimming, water slides, paddling and rafting are all cool options for a hot, summer’s day. Or, go for a swim at one of the country’s amazing naturesprings. Or, try a water hike through a stream or gorge. And do not forget to try our water parks.
